Houston is in the top 20 when it comes to the most expensive U.S. cities in which to get married, with couples spending an average of just over $27,000 dollars to say “I do,” that’s according to annual wedding statistics from the website theknot.com.

So it’s safe to say weddings are big business in Greater Houston, whether you’re a caterer, a photographer, a florist or a wedding planner. Houston Matters’ Michael Hagerty talked with a wedding planner — Nick Serna of Houston’s Elite Eventz — to get an inside of view of what it takes to plan and execute the perfect wedding. Serna says when it comes to planning weddings, there are two types of clients.
