Earlier this year, Forbes published its list of the 25 best places to retire – 25 U.S. cities that retirees might want to consider, based on factors ranging from cost of living to taxes to medical care, crime, weather and volunteer opportunities. And while three Texas cities made the cut – Austin, College Station and San Antonio – Houston did not. Some factors are in Houston's favor when it comes to retirement, such as the city's great medical care. But for retirees, other areas fall short, including our congested roadways.
