Heart disease is the number one killer of men and women in the U.S. The heart circulates oxygen and nutrient-rich blood throughout the body. When it’s not working properly, just about everything is affected.
A Healthy heart can help keep blood pressure normal, improve levels of cholesterol in the blood and improve your body’s ability to manage blood sugar, which lowers your risk for type 2 diabetes.
Here are a few tips to maintain heart health:
- Eat a healthy diet.
- Exercise for 30 minutes a day.
- Get enough sleep.
- Stop smoking and avoid secondhand smoke.
- Manage your stress.
