Stress from daily responsibilities can adversely affect our mental health. Professor Emaan Lehardy, with the Department of Behavioral and Social Sciences at the Tillman J. Fertitta Family College of Medicine has some self-care tips.

“Mental health, which includes our emotional, psychological, and social wellbeing, is important. Here’s some things to try.”

  • Maintain a consistent sleep schedule.
  • Engage in daily physical activity. Even a 10-minute walk can help reduce stress or anxiety.
  • Eat healthy, well-balanced meals.
  • Set small goals that provide you a sense of accomplishment.
  • Connect with the people in your life. Strong family and social connections keep you
  • Be mindful by slowing down and focusing on one task at a time.

“For additional support, speak with a mental health care professional. Your mental health and well-being matter.”
