Encore Houston, Episode 91: Bach Society Houston

The Bach Society Houston recreates a Mass from 1817, with music by Bach, Schicht, and Righini.

On this episode of Encore Houston, we go back in time to the year 1817, 300 years after the start of the Protestant Reformation, with a recreation performance by the Bach Society Houston. With the help of Dr. Jeffrey Sposato from the University of Houston, the Bach Society pieced together a program of works that had been performed in Leipzig in 1817 as part of a celebratory Mass for the anniversary of the Reformation.
