With the onset of COVID-19, many businesses were forced to transition to operating remotely. Assistant Dean for Career and Industry Engagement Jamie Belinne with the Bauer College of Business at the University of Houston says as the workforce returns to the physical office, many younger generations are saying "no thank you."

“Retaining young employees, especially those described as Generation Z, has always been a challenge for businesses, but COVID has further changed their expectations and needs.”

“In a survey of young professionals, more than half say they want an even mix of in-person and virtual work, with less than ten percent wanting a fully online experience.
