Leaders are everywhere ― in higher education, sports, organizations, our country, the world. Dusya Vera, with the Bauer College of Business at the University of Houston, reveals a surprising ingredient that makes someone a good leader

"When you think of a strong leader, you might think first of drive or courage," she said. "The notion of humility may not come to mind. But humility is an essential ingredient of balanced ‘leader character' that every leader should strive for."

Professor Vera continued "Humility is not about denying one's own accomplishments, but about appreciating the contributions of others to our success, collaborating with others, being self-aware, and learning from our mistakes."
