As Houstonians hit the road in a couple weeks to travel in and out of town, visiting family and friends over Thanksgiving, this seems like an excellent time to be reminded of some of the rules of the road on Houston’s highways and byways. It’s an especially good time to freshen up on what to do and what not to do as law enforcement steps up patrols for the holiday season.

On this edition of Houston Matters, we welcome your questions about Houston’s road rules for representatives of the Houston Police Department and Texas Department of Public Safety. From lane changes to posted speeds to construction and school zones – what’s legal…what’s illegal…and what’s downright idiotic.

Also this hour: from a 3rd Ward shout out on Sunday Night Football, to unusual behavior from teachers and coaches, to pretending to be a different race to win an election, we explore the good, the bad, and the ugly in Houston news this week.

Plus: we head northwest of Houston to Todd Mission, Texas – site of the Texas Renaissance Festival.
