Invariably, when given the opportunity to complain about things we don’t like so much about Houston, the topic turns to transportation – too much traffic, not enough mass transit – and, way, way too many potholes. So many people travel on Greater Houston roadways each day, it’s probably not surprising we have potholes, and cracks in the pavement. But while some roads in Houston could stand some repair, others are in pretty good shape.

On Thursday’s edition of Houston Matters, we’ll talk with Houston officials about ongoing efforts and challenges associated with maintaining good road conditions. And we’ll learn about a new report examining such conditions in cities nationwide, which notes the 20 large cities with the worst road conditions – you may be surprised to learn, for all our hand-wringing – Houston’s not even on the list.
