Photos: Houston fans celebrate Texans draft picks at Miller Outdoor Park

Texans fans were able to celebrate the team’s first two picks of the draft – Ohio State University quarterback C.J. Stroud, and University of Alabama linebacker Will Anderson – at the Texans’ annual Draft Party 2023.

The fan event was held at Miller Outdoor Theater in Hermann Park, and also held a rap concert, featuring rappers Slim Thug, Lil KeKe, Bun B, and Paul Wall.

Fans were especially excited about their picks – Stroud at No. 2 and then trading with Arizona to get the third overall pick to get Anderson – and said it could be a new beginning for Texans.

“We’ve got a new coach, new identity, and now these draft picks; I’m super excited,” Texans fan Mike Correo said. “It’s a new culture and allows us to turn the next page.”

Olivia McCarter is a season ticketholder, and said she’s optimistic for the season.

“We got a QB, so hopefully that’ll bring us some offense, and then we got somebody coming off the line that’ll hopefully bring some sacks on the defense,” McCarter said. “So hopefully we can make some movement this year in the AFC.”

The draft continues Friday night, and the Texans have 10 more picks to go.
