My name is Agatha Brandfield-Harvey. I am a Houstonian and I am one of five girls. I attend Boston University and I am currently studying Journalism and I am planning on doing a minor in Business or Economics.

From this internship, I want to learn how a public radio station operates and learn how to become a better reporter by going out in the field and studying a reporter’s routine. I thought it would be great to intern at the radio station in order to gain some experience. My favorite public radio show is NPR. I like to tune in to “The Diane Rehm Show” and I always enjoy “Car Talk”. On Fridays, I like to switch on the radio to hear Craig Cohen on “Houston Matters”.

In Boston, I am a newscaster for my school’s broadcasting station, BUTV10. I report sport-related news and campus news as well. I am looking forward to joining Boston University’s radio station WTBU in the fall. Also, I am a writer for Her Campus BU, an on-campus magazine.

In the world of social media, I am a Twitter fanatic. The accounts that I particularly follow are news accounts such as The New York Times (@nytimes), BuzzFeed (@BuzzFeed), The Hollywood Reporter (@THR), The Boston Globe (@BostonGlobe), Houston Chronicle (@HoustonChron), just to name a few. I always want to keep myself updated with the latest stories. At school, I am on the social media staff for Her Campus BU (@HerCampusBU). I tweet about BU sporting events. My personal Twitter handle is @msagathaharvey. I am equally active on Facebook and Instagram.

When I am back home in Houston, the best thing to do, in my opinion, is to take a trip to the Museum District. I love seeing exhibits at The Museum of Fine Arts and The Museum of Natural Science. When I am not at KUHF, I like to spend time with my family.
