WATCH: NASA Previews Pair Of U.S. Spacewalks

Experts from NASA preview the work to be done during two spacewalks in a briefing from NASA’s Johnson Space Center in Houston

NASA astronaut Drew Feustel seemingly hangs off the International Space Station while conducting a spacewalk with fellow NASA astronaut Ricky Arnold (out of frame) on March 29, 2018. Feustel, as are all spacewalkers, was safely tethered at all times to the space station during the six-hour, ten-minute spacewalk.

Two NASA astronauts are scheduled to venture outside the International Space Station for a pair of six-and-a-half-hour spacewalks May 16 and June 14.

The first spacewalk will begin about 8:10 a.m. Wednesday, May 16. The second spacewalk is planned for Thursday, June 14, following the anticipated May 24 arrival of the Orbital ATK Cygnus cargo resupply spacecraft.
