A picture of the Iron Shark roller coaster at Pleasure Pier left viewers with their hearts pounding Saturday.

The image, posted on the "Houston" subreddit early morning Saturday, seemed to show a crack in a part of the structure of the ride.

In a statement from Keith Beitler, Executive Vice President and COO of Landry's, the company said that they were aware of the problem and had already fixed it.

"Given the attractions are located on the beachfront, they undergo routine maintenance. We were aware of paint chipping and rust on this beachfront ride and had already repaired it before the subject image was posted."

According to the Texas Department of Insurance, amusement rides must pass a yearly inspection from their insurance company certifying that they meet all the legal requirements for operating in Texas.

Landry's did not say how long the roller coaster was damaged, how severe the damage was or when the structure was fixed.
