HISD Is Looking At Ways To Improve School Safety

The board is expected to look at the resolution Thursday night

The Houston Independent School District board will consider a resolution asking for federal action on school shootings.

The resolution asks Congress to fund school security efforts with local law enforcement and to make changes to buildings, for more protection.

In a statement, HISD board of education president Rhonda Skillern-Jones said the board demands change and more should be done to protect students sooner, rather than later.

The board is expected to look at the resolution Thursday, April 12, 2018.
