Memorial Park.

Houston Police Department and Memorial Park Conservancy launched an urban park safety program Monday, April 9, in Memorial Park.

The program is a pilot to prevent crime and decrease response times in the park.

HPD will use two off-road vehicles to monitor trails in the park and provide a faster response to hard-to-reach areas.

They're also installing security camera systems and a trail marker system that will help park users identify where they are and relay that information to 911 dispatchers.
