Taylor Swift made a “generous” donation to the Houston Food Bank on Friday ahead of her first show in the city, the organization says.
This isn’t the first time the Grammy-winning singer made a donation, according to the Houston Food Bank. She also donated to the food bank after Hurricane Harvey.
"Taylor Swift brought more than a weekend of amazing concerts to Houston, she also made a generous gift to Houston Food Bank in support of our mission of providing food for better lives," said Amy Ragan, chief development officer for Houston Food Bank.
"We were pleasantly startled when we were contacted on Friday afternoon with the news, but not surprised by her generous contribution because she has a history of supporting food banks across the country, including ours. She made a generous donation to our organization in the wake of Hurricane Harvey. We are touched by her generosity and continued support of Houston."
The donation amount was not disclosed.
Swift has connections to the city through her mother, Andrea Swift. Andrea was raised in Houston and attended the University of Houston.
