The program is called We Can Do More, and we learn more about it from Dr. Kimberly Johnson, program manager and faculty associate at UTHealth School of Public Health.

Beginning in 2012, UTHealth started a test version of the project in two Sunnyside-area high schools, and it was shown to reduce teen pregnancy by about 20 percent, according to Johnson.

Now, Houston Endowment has awarded the program $3 million to expand the program to other schools and neighborhoods.
