Also this hour:
National Poetry Week
Each Monday this month, during National Poetry Month, we meet Houston-based poets. Today, we’re introduced to Bruno Ríos, a poet, novelist, and Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Hispanic Studies at the University of Houston.
Sports Monday
Every Monday, we talk with Jeff Balke, who writes for Houston Press and Houstonia Magazine, about developments in Houston sports. Today, we discuss the Astros’ opening week, the Rockets’ dim playoff hopes, J.J. Watt’s admission that he won’t play “terribly longer” for the Texans, plus a recap of Saturday’s Dynamo draw, and the start of the NHL playoffs brings with it an historic (if, on paper, easy) matchup for the Lone Star state’s only hockey franchise.
Special fundraising note
