Last month, the American College of Surgeons (ACS) brought together a number of medical experts to work on a national model for retraining, credentialing and privileging practicing surgeons in order to ensure all practicing surgeons are fit to deliver the highest quality care throughout their careers.

We learn about that effort from one of the organizers: Dr. Barbara Bass, chair of the Department of Surgery and executive director of the Houston Methodist Institute for Technology, Innovation and Education.
