Health officials Tuesday confirmed three new cases of the Zika virus in Greater Houston, bringing the total of known cases in the region to seven. Meanwhile, according to Dallas County Health and Human Services, the CDC confirmed a patient there acquired the virus through sex (it’s usually spread through mosquito bites).

These developments coincided with the World Health Organization declaring the Zika virus an international emergency.
