Tonight at 8, Houston Public Media TV 8 will present a special edition of Pioneers of Television, remembering the late Robin Williams. The actor and comedian died of an apparent suicide last month. His death, and others like it, nationally and locally, have brought the subject of suicide front and center.

We learn what Houston is doing – and what more can be done – to diminish the stigma of shame, guilt and mental illness, which might contribute to suicide attempts or impact surviving family and friends of those who take their own lives.
