On Monday (5/2/16) during the 2016 Offshore Technology Conference, an entire day will be dedicated to what organizers call their Next Wave program – it's billed as an "opportunity for leaders in the energy sector to share their insight and experience about how to thrive in times of volatility."

Why do it? Because much of this crucial industry to Greater Houston's economy is made up of younger professionals who have never been through an oil price slump until now, while veterans of the industry know the boom-and-bust cycle has troughs as well as crests, and that the current environment can create both challenges and opportunities.
