The annual Energy Security Council conference kicks off in the Woodlands today. The event will focus on security for the oil, gas, electricity, power, pipeline, transmission and service sectors. Then, on Wednesday, leading cyber security analysts will gather for the Secure World conference in Westchase. There’s also the annual Cyber Security for Oil and Gas Summit in the Energy Corridor coming up next month.

Sounds like a lot of activity in the city surrounding cyber security. There’s a reason. Rigzone estimates “the oil and gas industry…faces cyber attacks at an average rate of 2.4 million times per week.”
