Offshore Technology Conference this week. Oil and gas industry executives, scientists and engineers will have access to the latest technical information and equipment. It's also an opportunity for local students and professionals to network.
On this edition of Houston Matters, we discuss the Offshore Technology Conference and what it means for those of us who don’t work in oil and gas. We welcome your questions for Tom Holley, Director of the Petroleum Engineering Program at the University of Houston Cullen College of Engineering. Then, on the heels of the recent oil spill in the Houston Ship Channel and Galveston Bay, we learn about technology designed to address oil spill prevention and response. We speak with Rich Arnhardt, Regional Director for the Texas General Land Office Oil Spill Prevention and Response Division.

Mieko Mahi, who specializes in images of the energy industry. She has a new exhibit of her 25 years of work as the photographer of the oil and gas industry called “
The Offshore World.” The exhibit is on display at Silver Street Studios at 2000 Edwards Street, Suite 308, in Houston, on Sunday, May 4, and Thursday, May 8, from 2 to 6 p.m.
