Baseball legend Reggie Jackson is asking for the public’s help in locating his stolen vehicle.
The Hall-of-Famer, who works for the Houston Astros, took to Instagram on Wednesday to ask for help.
“I recently had My vehicle stolen in downtown Houston happened at approximately 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday, August 29th,” the Instagram caption read. “The vehicle that was stolen was My 2022 Red Dodge Charger hellcat, and the vehicle that was involved with this incident is believed to be an older model blue Ford Focus with temporary license plates.”
Jackson said that he is working with local authorities and they are reviewing video surveillance of surrounding communities and businesses for further information.
From January to July, over 11,000 vehicles have been stolen in Houston as of July, according to data from the Houston Police Department.
“Auto thefts are up, and they’re going to continue to go up,” said Tracy Hicks, who is over the Auto Theft Division. “They’re never going to go back down. It’s profitable, number one, and you need a stolen car to commit so many other crimes.”
