So she started blogging about the experience of being jobless – and some of the financial challenges that presented. Eventually, her blog started getting some attention, and she wrote a book about what she learned called Brokenomics: 50 Ways to Live the Dream on a Dime.

Gachman tells Michael Hagerty she aims to help readers find a healthy balance between being cheap or frugal and enjoying their life when money’s tight.
