Houston First is hosting a homecoming party for the Queen Bey with ties to Houston on Saturday starting at 6:30 p.m.
Mayor Sylvester Turner says the hometown singer will be here this weekend for her Renaissance World Tour.
"The Queen Bey, this week, Beyoncé, will be in town, Houston's hometown. And she will hold two concerts at NRG. You know, I recognize that not everyone has a ticket," he said.
Turner says the party will be for fans who might not have a ticket to Saturday or Sunday's concerts at NRG Stadium but want to show support for the artist.
"Her name will be put up at lights at the George R. Brown, and there'll be some fireworks around that. And then there'll be a drone display as well near the downtown area," he said.
The party, which will be at The Plaza near the George R. Brown Convention Center and Discovery Green, will include live music, fireworks, and 400 drones with Beyoncé-related themes. Fans can see the full schedule of the event online.
Renaissance is Beyoncé's seventh album, and this tour is her first solo tour in over six years. The album was written as a tribute to the Black, queer roots of house and disco music.
