On Thursday’s Houston Matters: U.S. Customs and Border Protection statistics released Wednesday indicate more than 144,000 migrants were taken into custody in May. That's 32 percent more than in April — and also the highest arrest total overall in 13 years. What's behind the large number and how does it figure into Pres. Trump’s intention to raise tariffs on Mexican goods until that country takes further action to limit such border crossings? We talk it over.

Also this hour: Sleep is a basic human necessity, yet so many of us have troubles getting to sleep, staying asleep, and getting enough quality sleep. So, local sleep expert Dr. Sudha Tallavajhula of UTHealth and Memorial Hermann joins us to answer your questions.

And Theatre Under the Stars takes on the daunting task of re-staging Jerome Robbins' Broadway.
