Two Sheriff’s deputies and six inmates had to evacuate a prisoner van that caught fire near the Harris County jail, located in downtown Houston, after a traffic accident.
The Harris County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) sent a tweet that shows the van on fire after it was hit, according to witnesses, by a pickup vehicle that ran a red light at the intersection of Jackson and Commerce before noon.
Two deputies and 6 inmates evacuated this prisoner van before it caught fire at Jackson and Commerce before noon. Witnesses say a pickup driver ran a red light and hit the van.
