The Harris County DA’s Office is charging Darian Ward for misusing the computer, cell phone and email provided by the City of Houston.

The Harris County District Attorney’s Office confirmed Monday it has filed a charge against Darian Ward, former press secretary for Mayor Sylvester Turner, for using the computer, cell phone and email account provided by the City of Houston for private purposes.

In July, a Harris County grand jury indicted Ward for failing to turn over public records.

A spokesperson for the Harris County DA’s office said the charge for misusing government property is a Class A misdemeanor.

Ward is scheduled to appear in court this Tuesday, October 16.
