A Santa Fe High School student has been arrested for threatening a teacher, the Santa Fe Independent School District reported Tuesday.

In a letter sent to parents, Santa Fe High School principal Rachel Blundell said “a verbal threat was made directly to a teacher at the high school” on Monday afternoon.

Blundell added that the Santa Fe ISD Police Department and the district’s administrators confirmed the threat was directed towards the teacher and the student was charged with a “terroristic threat on a public servant.”

The student has been removed from the campus and, according to Blundell’s letter, “appropriate discipline was applied according to the Student Code of Conduct.”

This is the second incident involving threatening messages that has occurred at the high school in September. At the beginning of the month, there was an incident about threatening comments sent by text message.
