Early Voting For Primary Runoff Kicks Off

More than 15.3 million people are registered to vote in Texas

Primary voting day at a polling place in South Austin on March 6, 2018.

Early voting for the May 22nd primary runoff elections begins today and runs through this Friday.

Sam Taylor is a spokesperson for the Texas Secretary of State’s Office.

He explains that one of the benefits of early voting is that you can cast a ballot anywhere in your county.

“So, you don’t have to go to your particular precinct. On election day, however, if you’re in a county that doesn’t have countywide voting, then you have to go to your particular precinct to vote in that one,” explained Taylor.

Polls will be open between 7am and 7pm each day of early voting.

Election night for the run-offs is May 22nd and News 88-7 will provide live election coverage on that Tuesday night starting at 7pm.
