Former Student Arrested For Threat Against Cypress College In California

Classes remain cancelled throughout the morning, and the reopening time of the campus is currently being discussed

Cypress College officials said a 24-year-old man was arrested in Pico Rivera, CA on suspicion of making a threat against Cypress College, prompting the campus to shut down.

According to the Cypress College website, classes remain cancelled throughout the morning, and the reopening time of the campus is currently being discussed.

The school’s Communications Director, Marc Posner, confirmed to abc7 that a former student has been taken into custody. The suspect’s identity was not immediately known.

School officials deemed the threat as credible based on the suspect’s “behavioral issues” in the past, Posner said.
