Harris County Animal Shelter Offers Free Dog And Cat Adoptions

The goal of placing at least 100 animals in homes before the holidays

The Harris County Animal Shelter is offering free dog and cat adoptions this week until Saturday, December 23, 2017, with the goal of placing at least 100 animals in homes before the holidays.

According to a news release from the county’s Department of Public Health, cat and dog adoptions include: age appropriate vaccines, spay or neuter, microchip and a one year pet license.

Animals awaiting their spay or neuter procedure are included in campaign.

They can be adopted and leave the shelter –which is located at 612 Canino Road, in Houston– but will be considered a foster pet until they return to the shelter for their surgery date, when the adoption is finalized.

Adoption fees will also be waived for people wishing to place an animal on an adoption hold with pick-up on Saturday, December 23, 2017.
