After the first major tax overhaul in more than 30 years passed in Congress, Republican leaders are promising it will stimulate the economy. While the new law would add to the national deficit, the say they’ll fix that issue on the back end by adjusting government spending and solving entitlement issues.
But, will any of that actually happen?
Ed Hirs joins Houston Matters to analyze how the bill might affect the economy. He’s an economics lecturer at the University of Houston.
