A gun range employee who was cleaning his weapon shot and killed a man in the Cypress area on Tuesday, in what appeared to be an accident, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.

KHOU reported that the shooting call was placed after 9 a.m. at the Hot Wells Shooting Range on Highway 290 near Barker Cypress.
KHOU added that according to the HCSO, the employee’s gun accidentally went off and ended up striking a man in another part of the range, who was pronounced dead at the hospital.
