
Officials say a series of “pops” at a Crosby chemical plant produced no toxins overnight. We talk with KHOU’s reporter Adam Bennett to give us more details on what’s happening with that chemical plant and what we have to look forward to in the future.
Greater Houston has, of course, many chemical plants and an enormous petrochemical industry. That industry is slowing down — and even in some cases halting operations — due to Harvey. For example, Colonial Pipeline shut down fuel lines from Houston through southern states and up the east coast. Its facilities outside of Lake Charles, La., are out of service. And there have been other Harvey-related shutdowns of refineries.
