At the George R Brown convention center, evacuees from flooded parts of Houston say they're grateful to have dry blankets and food. Michael Thompson arrived late Monday. He got stranded at a gas station on the Northside when the flooding started Saturday, then was huddled up with dozens of others at a warehouse.
Thompson says when the bus arrived to the convention center, he couldn't believe it
Another Houstonian flocking to the shelter is Star'nita McKelvey. Star’nita is thirteen years old and evacuated the Fifth Ward with seven other relatives.
