CHECK OUT: Maps Show What Areas Around Addicks and Barker Reservoirs Are Most Vulnerable

The controlled releases of the Addicks and Barker reservoirs will affect many residents in the surrounding areas. These maps provide information on which ones will feel the biggest impact.

Zoom in on the maps to find where you live. If you are in the colored areas of the map, you will be affected and may want to consider evacuating, but you definitely should make flood preparations (elevating furniture, moving valuables higher, etc). Even with the water release, the reservoir will continue filling and may flood those upstream of it (gray areas on map). If you live near Buffalo Bayou downstream from the reservoir, you will be affected as the water from Addicks will flow downstream and increase the amount of water in the bayou. It’s impossible to tell how far out from the colored areas and how far from Buffalo Bayou the reservoir release will affect because it depends on how much it keeps raining.
