Full Show: Recovery And Evacuations Continue As Rain Persists (Aug. 28, 2017)

Houston Matters brings you the latest on flooding recovery efforts and updates from News 88.7 reporters in the field.

Tony Deouch, shown on Monday, Aug. 28, 2017, is busy rescuing some stranded residents from flooded homes at the Terranova West subdivision in north Houston using an inflatable kayak.

The massive rescue and recovery effort continues Monday following widespread flooding from Hurricane Harvey. Meanwhile, Houstonians in some areas evacuate as the region braces for more rain and water is released from area reservoirs.

On Monday’s Houston Matters: We assess the situation as we check in with News 88.7 reporters across town with stories of rescue, recovery, and preparation for more rain. And we bring you the latest advisories from local officials as the situation unfolds.

We encourage you to share your stories, questions, and concerns at talk@houstonmatters.org or tweet us @HoustonMatters using any of these hashtags: #houstonflooding, #houwx, or #Harvey2017.
