Houston’s Ban on Homeless Camps Blocked — For Now

A federal judge rules the City of Houston can’t enforce a ban on homeless camps. We hear reaction from the ACLU and Mayor Turner.

On Tuesday (Aug. 22, 2017), Federal Judge Kenneth Hoyt issued a temporary restraining order blocking Houston from enforcing an ordinance that bans homeless camps in public places.

We hear reaction to the ruling from Mayor Sylvester Turner and Trisha Trigilio, senior staff attorney for the ACLU of Texas.
