Video: Battle Of The Bots, Chapter 1

2017 FIRST Robotics Competition hosted the game STEAMWORKS, a point-scoring challenge for robots designed and built by a team of high school aged students.

Some 15,000 high schoolers gathered in Houston this past spring to duel it out at the world championships for student robotics.

Among those battling bots for a top spot at the 2017 FIRST Robotics Competition was the Robonauts, a Houston-based team out of Clear Creek Independent School District. The team  had six weeks to design and build a robot before entering the tournament.

We captured the Robonauts’ journey in a two-part series. First up in the video above, meet a few team members… and their robot, Ruckus.
