A major power outage affected thousands in Dickinson, Monday night. Most of the city lost power, after the Texas-New Mexico Power Company reported an equipment failure. According to the power company, about 12,000 homes and businesses were out in Dickinson, as well as parts of Texas City and League City.
The outage also affected traffic control signals at intersections.
Power was fully restored around 2 am this morning.
Dickinson is less than 30 miles southeast of Houston.
