A flash flood watch is expected to remain in effect through noon Monday for Harris, Liberty, Brazoria, Galveston and Chambers counties.

Periods of brief heavy rain is possible as light rain continues, and may bring rainfall totals of half-an-inch to 2-inches, according to the National Weather Service/Houston-Galveston.

The NWS says the coastal areas that saw the heaviest rain on Saturday are most at risk for flooding.

A strong cold front is forecast to sweep through the region Wednesday night and the first freeze of the season may develop Friday morning for parts of the area.
