Changing impoverished conditions in the inner-city is a priority in the black community.
Community leaders as well as law enforcement and political leaders are trying different ways to reach out to young black voters. Precinct One Constable Allen Rosen recently held a get out the vote rally at Warehouse Live, a popular club.
"I think we have to educate people about their ability to vote and get young people to come out and vote. So we gather up our local rap artist and encourage them to get their followers to come out and actually register to vote and let their voice be heard”, he says.

Z-ro, a popular local rap artist, says he is using his music to set an example for the people who listen to him.
"If I can put my differences aside and come out here and do what I think is going to make a difference, then I want my people who like my music or try to emulate things that I do emulate this cast your vote and watch your vote work for,” he says.

Rap Artist Paul Wall and Kirko Bangz also attended the event. Tuesday is the last day to register to vote. The first day of early voting begins October 24th.
