Authorities say a single-engine plane crashed on the top of a Houston warehouse in an accident that left the pilot injured.

Officials say the crash happened around 11 p.m. Sunday.

A Houston Fire Department statement says air traffic controllers reported a small plane went off radar about 4 miles north of Hobby Airport. The wreckage of the Cessna 172 was located atop the warehouse, with help from emergency beacons.

Authorities say the pilot was transported to a Houston hospital. His name and condition weren’t immediately released.

Federal investigators will work to determine what caused the crash.
