As the Judge of Harris County, Ed Emmett is both chief judicial officer and chief executive of the county. While we mostly hear from him during hurricane season as the most visible figure leading in the event of a weather emergency, he’s also the man routinely pushing hardest to build support for a long-term vision for the Astrodome.

On this edition of Houston Matters, we welcome your questions and comments for Judge Emmett on these and other issues. Really, anything having to do with Harris County will be welcome.

Then: A lot can happen in a year. Some of it good. Some of it bad, Some of it downright ugly. When faced with intriguing developments in the news, we turn each week to a rotating panel of “non-experts” to parse the good, the bad, and the ugly of it all. Today, Joe Holley, Aurora Losada and Marcus Davis join us for a special year-end edition of The Good The Bad and The Ugly. For today’s discussion, we ask our panelists to share stories they felt were good, bad, and ugly this year.

PROGRAM NOTE: Houston Matters will give way to holiday programming Thursday and Friday. We return Monday (December 28, 2015) with a rebroadcast of the Houston Matters Road Show from the Energy Corridor. On Tuesday (December 29, 2015) we present a show filled with reports and discussions related to space exploration. And on Wednesday (December 30, 2015) we review some of the top stories of 2015.
