Vice President Joe Biden stopped by Houston’s Buffalo Bayou Park today to talk about the importance of good infrastructure for the country.

He praised the City of Houston for its Bayou Greenways Initiative and touted the federal TIGER grant program that helped finance it.

“Here in Houston, TIGER grants have invested to build 7.9 miles of on-street bike lanes, 2.8 miles of sidewalks, 7.5 miles of off-street paths, crossing gaps in the city’s bike grid,” Biden said.

Biden says good infrastructure attracts people and business, and he criticized the Republican-led House of Representatives for passing a bill that would get rid of TIGER grants.
