Bridge Of Spies

Hear Thomas Newman’s score for Spielberg’s latest film.

Bridge of Spies Soundtrack

Steven Spielberg films are integrally linked with John Williams. The movies and music go together seamlessly. So much so that for the last 30 years, Spielberg has only used John Williams to score his films.

But at the beginning of this year, John Williams fell ill and had to back away from committing to Bridge of Spies, leaving Spielberg wondering who he would be collaborating with. Enter Thomas Newman.

Thomas Newman's style is very distinct. He works within his own palate of sound, which has made him a unique and recognizable composer. Whether its music for Pixar or Bond, those characteristics always surface.

For Bridge of Spies, Newman found new challenges in working with Spielberg, mainly in following in the footsteps of John Williams. The Spielberg/Williams collaboration has worked so well because they are both the same kind of storytellers, full of emotion and heart.

Tune in to Music from the Movies this Saturday at 7pm or Sunday at 5pm to find out more about this score.
