Update: The Amber Alert for Alexis Johnson has been cancelled. The child has been safely located and the suspect, Harvey Eugene York Jr., is reported to be in custody.

An Amber Alert has been issued for a 6-year-old girl who deputies say was abducted by her mother's ex-boyfriend Sunday.

Investigators say Alexis ‘Lexi" Lynn Johnson was last seen with 40-year-old Harvey Eugene York Jr. at about 5 p.m. in the 300 block of South Main Street.

York was in town from Louisiana and visiting the mother when the pair got into an argument and she told him to leave. That's when he went to his 2000 Ford F-150 pickup truck and drove off with the child inside, deputies said.

Deputies say York is not the child's father and he is believed to be driving to Louisiana.

York's vehicle is blue with a silver stripe and has Louisiana license plate #F163202.

Anyone with information is asked to immediately call the Harris County Sheriff’s Office at 713-221-6000.
